"This was built in 1873 and it was the first house on this side of the creek. We bought it twenty four years ago... when I was pregnant with Lauren. Our daughters were completely freaking out during the fires...they were afraid of loosing our family home. "I had considered having a 'Fire-Sale' sign made but I thought better of it."   After losing his home, shop and business to the recent wild fires  many of Bud Pochini's Christmas trees, miraculously, survived the fire.  Bud's mother, Rianne, and daughter, Jasmine, assist Bud as they ready local and imported trees for their annual Christmas tree sale north of Calistoga. (Clark James Mishler)

"I escaped with what was in my truck. My neighbor banged on my door and woke me up. The fire was coming down the hill behind my house. I grabbed my phone, dog and keys and had to drive toward the fire to escape.
