 (Clark James Mishler)

5 PM, February 3, 2012.  Homeless man, Mark Ahvakana, originally from the village of Wainwright, walked from downtown Anchorage to the mid-town Walmart in deep snow to purchase a snow shovel.  He then walked back downtown and began searching for potential clients.  I hired Mark to help me push the snow around my house and was surprised to discover his actual size.  Mark’s three coats, and pockets full of soda, belied his small stature.  In addition, he was a hard worker and a gracious man.
