4 PM, August 13, 2011. Andrew Abyo inspects his newly created Aleutiq kayak frame at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, Anchorage. Andrew is an artist who specializes in traditional Aleutiq masks, hats, clothing and kayaks. It is always a pleasure photographing him with his creations.

9:30 AM, August 7, 2011. Two men wrestle in a mud hole, Ninilchik, Alaska. After a long night of alcohol and music, these two fellows seemed to have just enough energy left to make a spectacle of themselves. I was really afraid one of them was going to drown.
5 PM, July 6, 2011. Five year old Briar Boyd dances to the music at Salmon Stock, Ninilchik, Alaska. It was raining and a bit cool, but the hardy Alaskans didn’t seem to mind and danced to the music until 3 AM. The festival was an awareness event for the preservation of wild Alaska salmon and salmon habitat. The art work of artists Ray Troll and Memo made for some wonderful photographic backdrops.
